Hidro Mamma Mia: A Revolution in Homemade Pasta Making

Arbo Design's Innovative Pasta Machine Wins Silver A' Design Award

Arbo Design's Hidro Mamma Mia, a homemade pasta machine, is a socio-cultural tribute to Italian gastronomy. It's a compact, easy-to-use device that enhances the culinary experience and brings gourmet performance to everyday cooking. This innovative design has earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020.

Arbo Design, led by Valkiria Pedri Fialkowski and Daniel Kroker, was inspired to create the Hidro Mamma Mia to serve the immigrant community in Latin America, particularly Italians and their descendants. The machine is a unique blend of tradition and modernity, connecting the past with the present lifestyle and delivering a pleasurable cooking experience.

The Hidro Mamma Mia stands out for its ease of use, lightness, and compactness. It is designed for safe, high productivity, and facilitates a pleasant cooking experience for families and friends. Beyond preparing and laminating dough, the machine also cuts pasta with varying thickness, enabling the creation of a variety of dishes from pasta and noodles to bread and pizza.

The machine's design and manufacturing process involve metal stamping and plastic injection technologies. It uses materials like carbon steel, 304 stainless steel rollers, ABS plastic, nylon, armor-plated bearings, and LEDs. The engine is fully integrated into the transmission set, offering robustness and safe use, and making cleaning and regular maintenance easier.

The project, which started in June 2019 and concluded in December 2019, was carried out entirely in Brazil. The design process was consumer-centric and involved a multidisciplinary team of designers, marketers, engineers, sustainability experts, and anthropologists. The team used various tools such as desk research, field research, focus groups, consumer insights, trend mappings, and prototyping to bring innovation and differentiation to the market.

The Hidro Mamma Mia represents a new strategic direction for Arbo Design, aiming to regain market leadership through innovation. The design meets international technical and health legislation and is ready for export. The machine is a testament to Arbo Design's commitment to creating products that are efficient, modern, and capable of leveraging current production processes to ensure low investment in tools.

Arbo Design's Hidro Mamma Mia is a testament to the power of design in enhancing everyday experiences. It's a celebration of Italian gastronomy, a tribute to cultural heritage, and a symbol of innovative design. With its Silver A' Design Award, the Hidro Mamma Mia is set to redefine homemade pasta making and bring gourmet cooking to kitchens around the world.
